You can get great deals online, but sometimes travel agents just know where to go. Also, does it cost extra to use a travel agent?
Unless you already have an idea on where you want to go, what sort of facilities you want, how much you want to spend, I would go through a travel agent. The travel agent will be able to narrow down the possibilities and find the perfect spot for you.
Travel agencies are not always more expensive than online. They sometimes do have a fee, but it will be incorporated in the total package and will probably only be $50 or so. Travel agencies also have access to bulk packages that are not always available online.
Going through a travel agency will also be one less thing you need to stress yourself over while preparing for the big day. Why add more stress on yourself, when you can get someone else to do all the hardwork for you and for a price that is not that much greater than online? :)
I would get my deal online (shop around before making a purchase) after TALKING to a travel agent (you don't have to book anything right away right?) about where you'd like to go & what they suggest, and you could even post ?? on yahoo! answers to get feedback from readers on where you have in mind, etc ...
Talking to a travel agent, especially some reputed company, always helps. They can help get better deals due to what is commonly called 'bulk rates' in the travel industry and can guide you better about a destination and budget. It doesnt cost more to use a travel agent though some companies might levy a nominal service charge...which will usually be built into the cost of the package and you wont even notice the difference.
