I'm trying to plan my upcoming honeymoon to Ireland in late Sept/Early Oct 2009 from the US (California to be exact). Can anyone give me tips on how to find cheap airfare and places we should see while we are there?
Dundalk is the honeymoon capital of Ireland.
They do tours of celebrity houses. You can see The Corrs house while you're there.
I am going to give you the only piece of advice that was given to me for finding cheap travel deals, and it works to this day... Compare as many travel websites as you can as often as you can. Since you have a few months, start searching today and search the flights every week until the month before you are going. If anything is unusually cheaper, book it on that date. I would definitely recommend checking out BookMe. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites from one location, and save tons of money. Good luck!
As I am from N. Ireland I would suggest something out of the ordinary plus get to see and experience the beauty that is N. Ireland.
For that "different" experience - try here - you can book a double bath !!

AND
remember your Dollar goes a lot further against Sterling (N.Ireland) than the Euro (Republic of Ireland).

For flights within Europe I use this as a guide.
try www.aerlingus.com.. they have a sale on at the moment for flights to the US, so I presume they should have some from the US too...but I don't know if they go to California.
For trips and deals try discover Ireland, link below
If you land in Shannon spend a few days in Clare, and Galway, before heading off. Cork and Kerry are beautiful, but dont miss out on Dublin and Belfast too.
You're used to dry heat - make sure you bring warm clothes and a scarf and dress in layers. Ireland is damper than you're used to, and colder.
Go to www.discoverireland.ie to get an idea, and be prepared to stay in one area rather than haring all over the country - it may be small, but it's impossible to get around very fast unless you have a helicopter.
